Riverview staff,

Thank you for giving so much of your time and talents this week to prepare for the start of the school year, including the focused professional development sessions!  Our Back-To-School Bash was again a very successful event that was well attended, and students and families left impressed and excited by their new teachers.  I received many compliments about how wonderful the building looked.  Again, this is a testament to the dedication of our custodial, classified, and certified staff and would not have been possible without teamwork and internally high expectations.  Congratulations, you have much to be proud of!

As we continue to prepare for Tuesday, please see attached Before/After School Duty Schedule for the 16-17 year.  I have also attached a message that has been sent out to all parents via Skyward detailing RE Arrival/Dismissal procedures.  Feel free to use this email as a reference point for your own classroom newsletters if you ever need to.

Energy Auditor Message

Please read the following message and attachment from district's energy auditor, Dwight Stoppel.  Bottom line: Riverview has consistently lowered its energy consumption since 2011! Congrats, and keep up the good work, everyone!  As always, doors should always remained closed even if no one is in the room.

It’s good to see everyone back.  I hope your start to the new year has been good so far.  We just finished another productive summer with our energy savings.  Custodians have done a great job working with me to cut our energy usage and have Riverview looking great for a new school year.  The attached report provides the following:

  1.  Our electric usage each year since our baseline year in 2011-12.

  2. The shutdown percentage of each unoccupied audit

  3. A 1-5 score of the other types of audits.  Five being the highest score.
