Riverview Staff,

We are closing in on 6.5 days of school left, right before a luxurious 17-day winter break!  But these next 6.5 days are much like a snowball....getting faster and busier with each day, of course! :)   Enjoy the holiday spirit and student excitement next week!

** CHANGE IN DISMISSAL GOING HOME CHANGE PROCEDURE for Thursday, December 15:  All homeroom teachers should request student going-home changes be communicated directly to YOU for the half-day of school on Thursday, December 15.  Please request this information for all students, even if parents have already communicated this to the office.  Once you have all students' going home changes collected, please get this information to Tricia.  (One teacher said she is going to set up a Sign-Up Genius for this....genius idea, indeed!)  The office cannot handle the many (100+) Going Home Changes for next Thursday, as more than half of the building has a different way of going home midday.

Please include the following information in parent newsletters as well.  Lots of students are showing up without coats (a hoodie is NOT a coat!) when it is below freezing outside, which is not considered appropriate dress for participating in outside recess.

"As the Weather Turns Colder . . .

Please be sure to send your child in cold weather clothing as the weather changes. Students should bring a coat, hat, scarf, and gloves to wear or store in their locker, as needed. The district policy states that students will go out for recess when the windchill is at or above 25 degrees and students are considered to be appropriately dressed. Thank you!"

Please be sure to advertise spirit days and winter parties in classroom newsletters!
